If there is a grape variety is indoubtedly linked to Bullas, that is the Monastrell one. It is the distinct identity of the old Kingdom of Murcia and it is the indigenous variety of the Origin Denomination quality area. More than 85% of all the grown grapes belongs to this variety. Small in size, compact appearance, deep blue-purple colour, it provides a strong personality to the Bullas wines, not only because its colour, smell and taste but also due to the abundance of chemical components which are beneficial for health. The Regulatory Board guarantees its protection, limiting the use of other varieties and watches over the quality of the produced wines.
